A Capela Town Council history:
In the old regime the actual town council of A Capela owns to the Jurisdiction of Caaveiro. When the Constitucional Town Councils were constitute in the two liberal periods at the beginning of XIX century, the named Town Council of Caaveiro is formed, that owns to the judicial party of Pontedeume.
On September 1836 the town council of Cabañas solicits of Deputation the segregation of the parish of Cabalar to add it to him. Then, at the project of reduction of town councils approve by the Deputation of A Coruña at the session of the 5th of April 1842, the town council of A Capela continues as the main head of a town council form by 16 parishes, all that it has nowadays and besides the parishes of Vilavella das Pontes de García Rodríguez, Sillobre and Magalofes de Fene, Regüela, Salto and Soaserra de Cabanas, but this project wasn’t put in practice.
Later, according to the resolution of July of 1925, the parish of San Boulo de Caaveiro is separated of Cabanas and joint to the town council of A Capela
At the end, by decree 107/1982 of 8th July of “A Xunta de Galicia” the following parishes are separated of the town council of A Capela and joint to the town council of As Pontes.
