A Capela Town Council
The Town Hall
As the capital of the town council of A Capela was moved from Fergueiras to As Neves, the new Town Hall was constructed according to the project redacted on 1978 by Xosé Luis Martínez Suárez and Xosé Manuel Casabella López. The building is defined by architecture experts like a rupture element on the rural heart being, in this way, of more value his representative character, it’s considerated as an example of the architecture of XX century, and at the same time it remains some element of the traditional galician architecture as for example the galleries.
The Coat
The Town Hall has an official coat of arms by Decree 334/1998 of the 12th of November of the Justice, Inside and Labour Relationships Town Councillorship of the Xunta de Galicia, the heraldry is form by the stick and the San Rosendo’s belt, the monk that raised the San Xoán de Caaveiro Monastery at X century into San Benito’s Order. It incorporates at the top a Boss too with three starts that makes reference to the three parishes that form the town council nowadays. The coat of arms is crowned by a closed royal crown.
Town Hall Rooms
On the first floor is placed the session hall, the mayor’s office,
the secretary’s office, the technician’s office and the
social worker’s office.
On
the mezzanine we find the public assistance council offices, reading
council agency and the hall.
The
basement has an assembly-room with room for 100 people, and the council
archive.
